Katt Williams Case Dismissed, Never Should Have Been Charged

Gun charges against comedian and rapper Katt Williams have been dropped say Manhattan prosecutors. A district attorney spokeswoman says prosecutors moved Thursday to have the case dismissed based on the fact that they realize they simply “can’t prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt.” 37 year old Katt was arrested last November when police pulled over his Cadillac Escalade SUV along with a Dodge minibus also belonging to him. Two guns were in one vehicle and one in the other say on scene authorities.
Katt Williams lawyer Charles Ross is quoted as saying that Manhattan prosecutors have since learned the guns were indeed legally registered in other states to two men who were with Williams at the time of the arrest. Williams’s legal team is said to be “pleased that the DA’s office chose to do right thing and drop all charges against his client.”
So it’s back to his home in Woodland Hills for Katt who has previously appeared in such films as “Friday After Next” and “Norbit” and has recently completed work on the film Lonely Street in which he plays a character named “Rodent” not sure of the exact release date as of yet but it is complete now so it should be out late 2009 or early 2010.
