Although this article has absolutely nothing to do with celebrities or this blog in particular I wanted to let you all in, the question most have is how do I make my site relevant, sure anyone can put up a website some cost very little and some cost thousands to produce. Fact is that 40,000 new web sites will have been created as you read this article. So how do you make your website or blog pop in all the major search engines? I have a few theories, they work and I can back up every claim you will read below, with that in mind I invite you to read the content below and use whatever methods you agree could work and pay no attention if there’s something you just don’t understand…

big three Google, Yahoo and Bing. Just opinions and I have plenty.

CAN TOOLBARS HELP MY SITE?

Some say to stay away from the Alexa Toolbar and even some spy ware programs list it as a threat, however if you read the terms of service it is clear as to why it’s listed as a threat. Basically it collects information including the sites and pages you visit and uses the data to create rankings for most websites on the web. The reason its useful is that this information is important for website owners looking to sell ads on their sites as well as a measuring stick for advertisers as they can easily predict your sites traffic therefore making it easier to make an advertisement deal with your website. I use the toolbar and visit all my websites frequently and my ranking continues to rise.

Once you have the toolbar installed open an internet window, click on the tools menu at the top of your window, scroll down to options and click. A new smaller window will open, you will see a heading homepage with a URL below it, enter your websites URL and click OK. If you still want your original homepage to open as well the previous step can be put on the line below your original homepage and both will open. You’re done! Now every time you open your internet page your site will display, thus you will gain a more positive status with Alexa quickly.

Google:

Well I have to say this tool bar is excellent for quick web searches it really doesn’t do much to help your website, it does display page rank as you surf the web which is nice but as far as benefiting your website in any way, I’d have to say it’s pretty much DOA.

HOW DO I INCREASE MY GOOGLE PAGERANK?

You need one of two things:

A whole bunch of money to buy high page ranked back links (Google doesn’t like this way, you’ve been warned) With option #1 you will spend countless hours searching the web for websites you think may display your link or banner ad, you will now pay them to display your link or if you’re lucky they may decide to do a link exchange with your website. (Keeping in mind the website then must be related to yours to really count e.g. Disc Jockey’s should be trading links with Nightclubs, Caterers or other Entertainment Companies, not clothing manufactures or car dealerships from anther country) In order to make an impact you must have several, some have hundreds. Also keep in mind you are linking to these websites so if Google has a less than favorable opinion or has possibly blacklisted them it is not advisable to be trading links with them obviously.

You need to learn how to create your own websites and buy yourself a reseller hosting package. This is the absolute best way to go as long as you already have a site or two that are ranking above PR2, why would you worry about getting, paying for and maintaining backlinks when you can create your own in minutes? If you don’t have knowledge as far as creating sites it’s easy to learn, I suggest you pick up Dreamweaver CS4 and within a few days you will be well on your way to producing some pretty alright looking web designs. You could also go the blog route and use wordpress however your page rank is usually much better with a full html website, Dreamweaver CS4 is packed with ready made templates so all you need to do is drop your information. Even if you have no Idea what other kinds of websites you want to create its ok, there are thousands of ideas online and hundreds of affiliate opportunities available so you can pretty much create and sell whatever you wish you just need to create the site and post the supplied information.

Once you have created a few sites you need to interlink them, I usually create a small bar that I place at the bottom of every page on every site filled with all my genuine URLs, voile you will be amazed because the next page rank all your sites will explode in the pr department. You should see every site jump to a PR3 or 4, just keep in mind that sometimes it takes 2 updates to get this high and that the first pagerank update may only show a PR2. Nevertheless when you think about it, if you have just 5 sites with 10 pages each all containing your link bar, you then have 50 back links from lets say PR3 ranked pages all pointing back to your main site page without the risk of linking to bad neighborhoods and getting in trouble or losing your own pr with the search engines!

As far as hosting goes I use HostNine, I pay about $20 a month for my reseller package and host around 20 huge websites, anyone can sign up and you usually get a huge discount on your first monthly payment. Some may bash HostNine because they do have a few outages every now and then but really who doesn’t? Everybody’s hosting company has servers that go down and if they claim they don’t well…. you know.

The last tool you may want to seriously consider getting is something called IBP (Internet Business Promoter) I find it’s the best program around when it comes to submitting your websites, most versions will also allow you to find incoming links, create your own ready to post link pages as well as consistently removing dead engines and adding new ones every single week! Sure submitting to 300 not so know engines may seem like a waste because they don’t really help your page rank, but they also direct Google back to your page very frequently and that’s a good thing! There are also several hundred directory listings included that you can add your site to very quickly using this software.

DO AUTOSURF WEBSITES WORK?

I’m going to say yes, but everything may not be as good as it seems! Auto surf websites do work to increase hits to your websites, however it’s important to keep in mind that although they do display your page they do it for a very brief time, if you know about SEO you also know about bounce rates and with that in mind it may actually hurt more than it helps, simply put if Google sees someone opened your page but only stayed 10 seconds before moving on they can only assume that the visitor did not find what they came looking for because if they did they would have been on the page longer, the 30 second auto surf sites aren’t as bad, but it’s still not much time especially when 200 people a day are opening your page and leaving within seconds.

If you are planning on using an auto surf website you should think about also putting a flag counter on your page, lot’s of visits from around the world will help make your page appear busier and more widely read then it may be and there is a huge number of surfers worldwide you can get hits from.

When is the next Google page rank update?

This once again is a question that cannot be answered by anyone; your guess is as good as mine or anyone else’s for that matter.
(Personally I think they should take wagers on this in Vegas; they would make a killing I bet!)

Why does Google search filter my images even though I don’t have explicit content?

To put it simply Google’s spider cannot see the images of course, to the best of my knowledge they judge based on the text surrounding the images on your pages, they are very careful, in fact way too careful when it comes to censoring images but in retrospect they have to be that way, no one wants boobs or worse popping up when their child is searching the net right? Since they can’t actually see what you’re posting they filter anything suspicious.

The whole system is very touchy I myself recently had over 500 images moved over to the filtered area, yet I have nothing questionable at all on the website. Google had them all indexed and everything was fine, then I thought “hey, I should fix up the Meta on these photos” that’s just what I did and within a week Google filtered every single one of them out, go figure.

In my case they were celebrity photo galleries, I am seriously thinking that adding the word “Gallery” to the photo Meta is what did me in…
